We are looking for a motivated Machine Operator to run and help refine our additive work cell. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge around FDM and SLA, and the various platforms available within those categories. A firm grasp of how to schedule machine loading to maximize print time, as well as an aptitude for developing and following planned maintenance and service schedules will be critical attributes for this position. If you are interested in additive manufacturing, and would like to help develop new processes from the ground up, this position offers both.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Operation: Schedule and run a print farm to produce production parts and maximize throughput.
- Preventative Maintenance: Help define and perform proactive service of the equipment to minimize unplanned down-time.
- Print Optimization and Troubleshooting: Work with the Engineering team to improve designs and program settings to ensure the best print quality and the efficient use of materials.
- Platform Breadth: Work on multiple types of additive platforms to pair the best process with each production part.
- R&D Testing: Collaborate with design engineers to create samples for products early in the pipeline, while not breaking pace with production requirements.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and product management, to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in 3D printing.
- Demonstrated familiarity with FDM as an additive process.
- A track record of managing machine maintenance and production efficiency.
- Competency with slicing software, as well as Excel or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on capabilities to diagnose complex machines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferably:
- Experience working with 3D models.
- Familiarity with other forms of CNC equipment beyond Additive.
